Candy AI's chat reads well in the first ten minutes. The opening replies are punchy, the avatars are well-shot, and the keyboard never lags. Where the cracks start to show is around hour two — when you try to come back to something you mentioned earlier and the character has quietly forgotten it.

That's the central tradeoff with Candy AI: it's optimized for the first session, not the third. If you mostly use companion apps for short, mood-setting chats, you'll get a lot out of it. If you're looking for a thread that builds across weeks, you'll find yourself re-stating context far more often than you should.
